Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from a small community in Texas that was hit by Hurricane Harvey on August 25, 2017. After a year later, most of my students and their families are getting back on their feet.
My students and their families have persevered through this natural disaster that hit our community.
Our school is a Title I elementary school serving students from Pre-K to third grade. My students and I are filled with excitement to begin this school year. I am looking forward to meeting them and seeing where their love for learning takes them.
My Project
The items that I have included in this project will help me encourage a love for learning in all subject areas. I want to offer a variety of station work that my students can work through independently or with a group of students.
I also want my students to challenge themselves so I have included a STEM kit.
This will enable my students to use science and math while trying to complete a task.
I want my students to have fun learning their math facts so I have asked for number stamps and number sense activities.
I am asking for Reading Folder Games and Comprehension Activities to encourage a love for reading. I have also included a set of books for read alouds that deal with character education.
Thank you for supporting my project. I want to make certain that my students will be educated in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
