Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 8th grade students are excited about what science has to offer. They strive to do their best and love to work in collaborative groups to work on projects and hands-on activities. My students motivate and support each other throughout the learning process. My students are from low socioeconomic neighborhoods, where the major focus is obtaining nutrition and clothing. Having access to technology is not a priority.
My students put forth great effort toward accomplishing their academic goals, and would greatly benefit from having access to the resources they need.
My students are able to overcome many of the daily challenges they are faced with. They come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, and some struggle with learning disabilities and others with language barriers. My school has been recognized as a top achieving school and we hold all of our students accountable for their own learning. We want to make sure they have all the resources they need and deserve to become future leaders.
My Project
Classroom organization is essential for stations and transitions to occur seamlessly. With the storage carts we are requesting, the students will have everything they need to participate in class. Our students travel between two classrooms so this will eliminate wasted time and the need to pass out supplies each period.
Our students love to work collaboratively to solve problems, complete projects, play educational games and so much more!
Our organized classrooms will provide structure and will help day to day classroom activities run smoothly. The carts will be used to store interactive notebooks, writing utensils, markers, dry erase markers and erasers, glue, scissors and any other materials needed. We have found that our students are more successful in their learning with consistency, structure and organization.
