Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my students are English Language Learners, speaking primarily Spanish or Marshallese. My students come to me with a wide range of abilities, cultures and life experiences. Ninety percent of our students are classified below the poverty level.
These students come to school ready to learn in every way and I would love to give them all the resources necessary to succeed!
Integrating hands-on learning into the classroom is a top priority for our classroom! Hands-on learning will help students develop their fine motor skills as well as increase enjoyment in school. The students in my classroom are beyond eager to learn and excel! We would greatly appreciate your donation!
My Project
We will use the items such as sand, paint and beads to use as multi-sensory items for students to become automatic in learning letters and sounds. Research shows that the more students are able to put their hands on items, the quicker they are able to retain the information and become proficient.
Sandpaper, sand, and sensory beads will put multi sensory learning in my students hands!
The more we can practice our letters to automaticity, the more it will help us with our reading. We can't wait to utilize their materials and take learning to the next level. Thank you for helping us get there!
