I work at Dorothy M. Wallace COPE (Continuing Opportunities for Purposeful Education) Center, they have a vision to provide varying educational opportunities, enabling teenage parents to become high school graduates and reach their fullest potential. Our school is a Teenage Parent Program (TAP) specializing in providing an enriched learning environment that promotes a holistic pre/postnatal educational program in order to develop responsible, caring mothers/fathers while simultaneousely assisting the young mother in achieving her academic and post-secondary goals.
My students at COPE Center are smart, creative, inquisitive and ambitious.
They accept responsibility as teenage parents through multi-disciplinary approaches in a nurturing environment. We recognize the total well-being of each student by fostering positive social and emotional growth. In addition, we provide academic, parenting, life management and career skills, along with needed support services, allowing for maximum school success.
This State Leadership Conference (SLC) promises to be an exciting opportunity for our Florida HOSA members. Orlando is an exciting location and the Marriott Orlando World Center promises to be an exciting opportunity for all Florida HOSA members. All student members attending the SLC will have an assignment/function for example be in a competitive event, serves as a Courtesy Corps member or Voting Delegate, eligible as a State Officer Candidate, or participation in the Leadership Academy.
This opportunity will be valuable and needed for students to develop communication and leadership skills needed to be successful in the today's healthcare industry.
