My Students

What is cool about the students at our community school? One thing is that they all come from different parts of the world and end up living in a small neighborhood in Portland, ME. This means that we have more than fifty different languages being spoken within our school district. Additionally, the students at Reiche enjoy activities each afternoon that focus on community, STEM, physical activity, literacy, and healthy living. And finally, the students at Reiche love to try new things and enjoy learning! Our school is a place to have fun learning and become your best self.

My Project

Everyone you speak with has a field trip memory. Studies indicate that field trips are a key component of school instruction; they broaden the educational experience and make a subject more relevant.

Students might be good at reciting and remembering things but they often don’t make lasting connections unless they experience it first hand.

Our 4th grade field trip to Augusta will help students connect the dots by providing real experiences related to all content areas.

Our field trip will enrich and expand the curriculum, strengthen observation skills by immersing children into sensory activities, increase children's knowledge about our state, and expand children's awareness of their own community.
