Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My student-athletes come from diverse backgrounds and attend a Title I school. Some of the middle schools in our area do not have large athletic programs for students to grow and improve over a length of time. The softball season is very short and for many of my student-athletes, high school softball is their first exposure to a competitive sport. In order for our team to keep up with other programs in the area, we have to spend extra time in the off season preparing.
Most of our students cannot afford to pay on club teams to develop the skills needed to compete at the high school level.
As a high school coach for 7 years, I have seen athletes struggle on the court due to lack of skill development. My athletes are eager to learn new skills and improve their game.
My Project
The donations to this project will help our team get the equipment needed to enhance our program.
This Item was chosen as a resource to help our athletes succeed on the field.
This device will help us to keep stats at all of our softball games that we can then import to an online website. Those stats can be used as a college recruitment tool for our student-athletes. This device will also help with daily practices to show skills and drills as well as a tool to video tape practice skills and drills for assessing and refining technique and abilities on the field.
