My Students

This project is for math resource groups for next year. Most of my students have many academic gaps, so I want to try my best to fill those gaps with the best resources possible. I want my students to feel successful and safe in my classroom due to many coming from unstable homes and neighborhoods.

Being a Title I school, resources are very limited, so I am unable to provide my classroom with the best supplies to help them reach their full potential.

These students work hard and are extremely motivated, and I want them to feel successful in how they are being taught in the classroom.

My Project

The materials I am asking for will help my students feel successful as they transition into 6th or 7th grade next year. Due to lack of funding, and working at a Title I school, sometimes asking for basic supplies can be a difficult task for many families. The supplies listed below will help tremendously in helping them feel successful in the classroom.

Students need to feel successful.

With your help, I can help provide pencil pouches to help keep their supplies organized. My students were recently funded for pencils and dry erase markers so this will help them keep their math materials together in one space.

Students at my school tend to be below grade level, so I am asking for a few materials that can help fill that gap for my students. One important material is the RTI book. This year, I will be running interventions for my school and this will help increase proficiency for those students.

I am also requesting gator inequality signs. Most students struggle with the concept "more than and less than" so this tool will help them as they practice inequalities throughout their middle school career. It is also a fun touch that our school mascot is a gator.

Some Fun things: I want to incorporate the joy factor in the classroom. Some of those things include flexible seat stools, invisible ink pens, and LED lights.

I want to give these students the opportunity to feel successful at math, a feeling many of my students have never felt before.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look over this project! I promise you won't regret helping these students out!
