My Students
We are from the Southwest side of Chicago, IL. Our school has been transitioning into a personalized learning school. Students work on skills to become self-directed, collaborate, and discover what type of learners they are. They have taken the challenge to grow in their learning. I love how my students have taken that challenge to try something completely new and own it. I look up to their courage and vulnerability as I transition into this change as well.
My students are persistent, creative, joyful, passionate, and love to get hands on with their learning.
I love how my students are taking what they learn about themselves to help those around them.
My Project
These general school supplies would be used weekly or even daily by my students. While reading our novels and text, post-its and highlighters would be used to annotate text. Art supplies would be used when students are working on creative hands on activities.
Most importantly, pencils and a community sharpener would be used daily.
Many students come into my classroom in the morning or by the end of the day saying they need a writing utensil. Some ask if they may borrow supplies to take home for a night. I want my students to know our classroom will always have supplies for them to be prepared for class.
