My Students

My students come from very diverse backgrounds which has greatly blessed our classroom culture. Cultural diversity is amazing and wonderful, but it does have its drawbacks. Many of my students come to the States knowing little to no English, which does hinder their reading. Our reading ranges are all over the place! Finding texts at their personal levels can be tough and requires extra resources that we do not have funding for. My students are excited when they reach that "Ah-ha" moment. By providing them with this program they will be able to track their growth!

My Project

My students only come with one notebook per kid. Their school list does not provide more. They are in school for science, reading, writing, social studies, math, and health. One notebook cannot span the year in a single subject, let alone 6. I would like to use the notebooks directly for the students when they need them. I would also like seat bags to give the students somewhere to put their library and classroom books. Book boxes take up too much space. With a seat pocket, they can reach around and grab their desired books easily.

I would love for my students to have easy accessibility to their reading!
