Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn." -Benjamin Franklin.
I teach a group of sweet, generous, and kindhearted students.
They are in first grade in a Title I school and many of our students have economic and linguistic challenges.
My students love to learn! They love to be active and work hard. The students always come to class with a smile on their face and a ready to learn attitude. The students in my class never give up and always try their best. I strive to give them the best educational experience a school can offer.
My Project
My students love to read. These pouches will protect the books and also serve as a great way to get books from school to home an vice-versa thus promoting literacy at home. These book pouches from Lakeshore are sturdier and easier to carry! We will use these tote bags as book bags throughout the school year. I plan to send books home in these bags so that students can read them to their parents, siblings or themselves.
Each year I make sure that my students have a name tag on their desks to make them feel welcome.
The names tags are used as a resource to help students throughout the year. They can refer to it for letter formation, number order and the correct spelling of color words. The name tags last for the entire school year.
