This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My 4th graders are active, creative and curious learners. My class is filled with unique students who are all eager to learn and take brave chances in order to grow academically and personally.
Students become frustrated when they cannot push themselves because of the lack of supplies and materials in our classroom.
My school is located in the heart of Harlem. Many of my students live in Harlem and The Bronx, areas that challenge students with crime and poverty, and over 75% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch.
My Project
Do you remember the excitement of using your new supplies in the beginning of the school year? A fresh box of crayons, newly sharpened pencils, and blank notebook filled with crisp paper are all signs of a new school year. Unfortunately many of my students do not know this simple pleasure.
A new school year means new school supplies.
My future students will come into their classroom in September eager to learn! With this project, our classroom will be supplied with the necessities to make our school year successful. Students will have new pencils to use, colored pencils to complete different projects, fresh glue sticks, new dry erase markers & boards, and blank notebooks. Please help my students begin their 4th grade year on the right foot!
