Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! My students come from countries all over the world and are eager to learn and work hard; they are curious and motivated! My students are learning to read, write, speak and listen in English as they adapt to a new school and culture. While this presents challenges, my students know and understand how to persevere. Because my students have unique language learning needs, they also require specialized support to develop language skills and strategic thinking. My work with students this year involves collaborating and co-teaching with their grade level teacher to provide ESL support in several different grade levels from early childhood through middle school. It also involves pulling students for intensive and specialized instruction.
My Project
This project supports us to be ready to go with the essentials day one! Having a color printer will be amazing support us in so many ways especially with multi-sensory instruction as well as printing images to support our learning.
In addition to a color printer, we need materials to create bulletin boards, provide motivation and rewards, professional reading for planning instruction and of course pencils!
We are also hoping to have some new literature to supplement some of the reading lessons that we have planned over the summer! We very much would appreciate the support so that we can start off strong!
