Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are second graders who are always eager to learn something new every day in school. I teach at a Title I school in a large city, where 98% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are very motivated and try their best to learn, despite many obstacles they face each day. A majority of the students in my school come from a Spanish-speaking homes and are attempting to read and write in English, their second language.
My Project
Using these materials can have my students see what team work is like through using the buzzers to answering questions in a game where they can earn the stickers. The hall passes will notify me of where I had sent my students in the building. The reading cart and book bins will organize my leveled readers and be more mobile to use in the reading centers. Each student will be placed into groups to work in different types of centers using the Daily 5 Reading and the Daily 3 math. Each center will have use of the cart as to direct students in their centers. The reading cart will be used for independent reading and paired reading. Utilizing these items will enhance a great learning experience for my classroom next year!
