I am proud to be teaching second grade at a Title I elementary school in Michigan! Second grade is a year full of excitement, adventure, growth, and wonder. My students come from a wide range of social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Even though many of my students face very difficult situations in their home lives, I am amazed by their strength and resilience!
My students are curious, active, and excited to learn and experience the world around them!
I am so thankful to have the opportunity to help guide their experiences. They continually remind me of the importance of my own growth and life-long learning.
My Project
One of the most important and impactful times of our day at school is the morning! It's where we greet each other, socialize with our friends, and prepare our hearts and minds for the day ahead!
It is important that every student is provided the time to enter our classroom in a low-stress, welcoming, and playful environment.
This encourages the students to strengthen their communication skills with their peers, and helps to develop a strong sense of community! It is my hope that by providing students with a wide-range of manipulatives, journaling books, puzzles, blocks, and choices, they will be better equipped to start their day off on the right foot!
