Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hard working, determined, confident kids. Despite challenges at home, they come to school ready to learn. A majority of my students qualify for free lunch and breakfast and stay long hours after school. While education is a priority to our families, they often do not have the means to provide extra curricular activities for their children.
My third graders are hungry to learn, eager to read, and excited to be at school.
They are capable and deserving of so much because they show me daily how they overcome many obstacles in their own lives.
My Project
My students are making the transition from primary to upper grade as they start in my class as third graders. As a new third teacher, I am looking to inspire them to be life long readers and these chapter books will provide them with many choices when they visit our classroom library.

Adding these new chapter books to our classroom will hopefully match the right book to every student I teach. My students don't always have appropriate books to read at home which makes having them accessible at school very important!
