My students need MagnaTiles, Kids K'nex, Wiki Stix, hand lenses, stamps, and kinetic sand to start their day together: creating, building, and problem solving!
Each day is a new adventure, with guaranteed smiles. My classroom is full of dynamic learners. Each one unique.
My current classroom is a wonderful combination of students that have different learning styles, medical needs, and students to whom English is their second language or a new language to them.
Children who come from all over the world and are adjusting to a new culture and a new school structure feel more connected as they actively learn alongside their classmates.
Movement and hands-on activities are crucial for all young learners as they continue to develop an understanding of the world around them. My classroom is full of 5 and 6 years olds that bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the room each and every day and it is my job, my pleasure, to do my best for them to provide the best education in an engaging and accommodating environment where they can all flourish.
My Project
The supplies I have asked for will all be used daily in morning work tubs. Morning work tubs allow students to start their day with educational play and exploration. Things like the Magna Tiles will allow children to build and create things from their imagination or to problem solve to create and engineer a table challenge. For example they may be asked to create a house or the tallest tower. Hand lenses will be used to observe seasonal bins and note their observations as they take a closer look at things from the world around them. Kinetic sand will allow for sensory play and stamping fun!
Giving students the opportunity to interact and work together to complete a task, solve a problem, or top their table best is fun and energizing way to start their day at school.
The supplies in these bins will make kids excited to come to school, to see what their morning tub is, and begin to create relationships through play and exploration. These supplies will get their minds going from the moment they walk through the door in a very engaging and collaborative way. Please help me support student growth in all areas of life!
