My Students
Our school recognizes the opportunity gap in education for students of color. We see the potential in each student and strive to fight for their right to quality education. I am a first year Teach for America teacher trying to provide a quality education for 50+ 5th graders. Ninety percent of our students live below the poverty line and all receive free or reduced lunch.
Help me fight for the rights of my students and the future of America by partnering with us to furnish our classroom with the basic tools for success in Math and Science.
My Project
I am a first year teacher working with Teach for America to close the opportunity gap in a priority school in Baltimore City. My students are in need of whiteboards, a sharpener, scissors, and folders. The whiteboards will be used for small group math and science rotations. The sharpener will be used so that students can have writing utensils. The scissors to cut out board game pieces, science projects and shapes in math. The folders will serve as a folder to house student work so that they can keep track of their progress and growth over the school year.
Your partnership with our 5th Grade classroom affords our students the opportunity to a quality education in Math and Science.
These classroom essentials will help create an environment that invites scholars into a safe, hands on and fun STEM classroom. We greatly appreciate your partnership in helping us fight against oppression and the opportunity gap in Baltimore City schools.
