Our class is amazing! We are a first-grade inclusion class. Our students are now deep into the first grade experience and, while we are trying to make things exciting, we lack the supplies in order to do so.
These students come from many countries from all over the world!
Many of the parents in our school do not speak English and these children are first-generation Americans. There are many diverse learners in the classroom. These students are amazing and come to school every single day eager to learn!
My Project
Every year we come to school ready to do a great job! The teachers are prepared with wonderful lessons and spend every last dollar they can on making the classroom beautiful and accessible.
When the first days of school come around it is sad to see that only about half of the students come to school with the necessary school supplies in order to be successful.
Last year we were able to get some of our necessary supplies but they are becoming depleted quickly!
We can not possibly do our jobs without copy paper! Unfortunately our school does not have the money to supply this for us. The students also need notebooks for their math and phonics work and folders for their reading, writing and math projects. We need dry erase markers for teachers to present lessons and students to complete independent phonics and math lessons. Last year out scissor supply diminished as students lost some supplies. Glue sticks go so quickly through out the year. It is so difficult to teach without necessary supplies
