This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a small, fully inclusive charter school, where almost seventy percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. I work with students who are labeled in many ways. I'm working to help students remove their labels and find their feet, as well as their voices.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but one thing they have in common is their thirst for creative learning opportunities.

My students work hard and are so, so eager to learn.

My Project

This project will center around penguins as we continue our animal unit covering habitats and lifecycles.

Moving from the Arctic and polar animals to Antarctica and penguins will require novels, puzzles, and figures to thoroughly explore.

STEM learning really integrates as many subject areas as possible. Providing students with puzzles, their own stuffed penguin for research, novels, and figurines in Orbees makes for an engaging, energizing study of the barren tundras of Antarctica. This year continues but could be more. interesting for all involved, with these resources. Help make the new year exciting with these STEM resources.
