Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach first grade in a predominantly lower-income school setting. My students come from all walks of life. Some of the students come from families that are struggling to make ends meet. Others have had severely traumatic experiences. On the other hand, some students are from more stable backgrounds and families that have more access to support.

All my students come with a sense of excitement, creativity, and an eagerness to learn.

Individualized student learning is extremely important. This year after spending a year and a half online it is even more essential that the students' learning is personalized.

My Project

Individualized goal setting and teaching to those goals has an enormous impact on student achievement. These materials will be instrumental in making sure students can work individually at their own level.

Small group instructions allows for greater flexibility and individualized teaching.

It also ensures higher level of participation and engagement. Teachers are more able to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback that is tailored to that particular student's needs. Students can use the VersaTiles and Hot Dots in their small groups to practice the skills that they have learned. This provides an opportunity to help push student learning to the next level.
