Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 25 Kindergarten students attend an excellent school where more than 50% of the students come from low-income households. However, each student strives to learn and succeed in school.
My students are bright, willing and excited to learn each day they walk into the classroom.
Myself and other teachers are dedicated to the students' success by ensuring our classrooms are engaging, differentiated, and safe learning environments.
Our school takes kindergarten seriously and we are passionate about setting a solid foundation for hard-work. We instill the love of learning so that each student can take this wonderful and meaningful experience with them to the next grade-level. These young students have amazing minds and it is my job to get them ready for the future!
My Project
Spring is the time for bugs! and for some research! My Kinder's love unit projects and are interested in insects. They are always chasing butterflies, catching ladybugs, and looking for spiders! This year, I have decided to study these creepy crawlers in a unit long collaboration. To do this efficiently, I am asking for 1 new Chromebook that could be used for researching insects. They will go online and utilize learning sites to gather information, watch videos, and use interactive games to learn about insects. As a class, we will use thinking maps on chart paper to have a visual guide when writing about and drawing bugs. Finally, my students will create these wonderful creatures using construction paper to display around the classroom for all to see!
Hands on, fun activities help Kinder's learn about Science #StartWithScience!
This project is perfect for giving my students the opportunity to learn about research, science, and insects! Giving them the tools they need will help these young curious minds become future scientists!
