My students attend a school in the urban community with a population of about 2,000 students. Approximately 81% of the student population is eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. A majority of my students are Filipino, Hispanic, and African American.
Every day, my students give me hope for the future.
They make the four walls of my classroom disappear and I'm constantly reminded that they are the people that I want to share this world with. My students keep me alive.
Butcher paper is used for many things in our classroom. In group activities, students write on butcher paper during discussions and for display in the classroom. It is also used to help our Yearbook class publicize the yearbook and to get the word out about important dates. Our four staplers in the classroom are currently broken, so it makes it difficult for students to turn in papers when they have multiple pages. As a teacher, I find myself losing student work when their pages aren't stapled together.
By providing both a butcher paper roll and an electric stapler, we can continue to stay organized and keep the learning going for the rest of the year.
