My Students

I love my school because it focuses on building peace in an urban community. I love how diverse my school is and how I learn something new every day about myself, my students, my community, and even my content area!

My school is Title 1 which means we serve primarily low-income students of color.

This school is doing really great work in my community and these kids need good educators! My goal as an educator is to make my classroom warm, loving, and educational. I want my students to feel appreciated, valued, challenged, and curious every day when they come in my room!

My Project

My students would benefit from two standing-desks so they can work on their feet rather than being stuck in a desk all day. As a teen, they are forced to sit in class all day and they get wiggly!

Instead of discouraging them to move, I would like to encourage them to move while working and staying on task.

These two desks also come with a fidget bar so while they are standing, they can wiggle their feet on the bar. This will be a great addition to my classroom! Thanks for considering this project. We really appreciate all of the support!
