Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are incredibly smart and excited to learn daily. In order for me to keep up with their forever growing curiosity and passion for learning, I need the materials to spark their learning.
"There are perhaps no days of our childhood we lived so fully as those we spent with a favorite book." -Marcel Proust
The students that attend this Title I school come from a low socioeconomic status. Many students at our school are on free or reduced-price lunch, and the school provides school supplies and the uniform for school. These circumstances often do not allow students access to academic supplies outside the campus of our school. Although these situations are unfair, my students deserve the same materials and access that any other child has. Providing these materials will help to push my students to a successful life.
My Project
I am asking for two standing desks for my classroom. Brain breaks, getting students active has been shown to increase learning experiences, and has shown to help them retain more information.
Many students will have the ability to get their bodies moving along with their brains.
This standing desk will provide a student to release energy in a non distracting way by swinging a bar, or just standing up to complete work. The desk will increase students achievement throughout my class in various ways. The students will be getting active, releasing energy, and their brains will be learning more information.
