Help me give my students Standing desks and mechanical pencils.
This project expired on August 15, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are future leaders, doctors, lawyers, mechanics, military members, and so much more.
Our students are a group of intelligent, underrated, pre-teens at a turning point in their lives, and they are our future.
With the right skills and knowledge, they could be the first in their families to graduate high school, attend college, and change the world.
Our students attend a lower-middle-class Title I elementary school. Where over ninety percent of our kids are considered to be at or below poverty level. These are some of the most creative kids because they have to be. They have so much to offer and will be the ones to make new advances in technology and inventions.
My students desperately need stand up desks! Today alone I was asked by 13 different students if they could stand up to do their work. I had one small podium that I allow them to stand at and it was always full until I got 2 of these desk funded and the kids love them. They love that they have the option to stand up when they are tired of sitting down all day. It really helps some of my more active kids focus better.
This group of students has lots of energy and need a way to get that energy out while still being focused and on task.
These desk will help with that. Students are expected to come to school for 8 hours a day and sit in desk for majority of the day. I want to change that! They are eager to do their best but sitting all day prevents them from being engaged and tuned in. They are more focused and engaged when they don't feel stuck to a spot.
