My Students

My students are eager, loving individuals who love to learn and be taught. They are smart, creative and energetic students teaching me as much as I teach them.

They are each unique individuals working at their own pace through their own learning style.

They learn from each other and aren't afraid to make a mistake. Each student has the potential to be great in their own personal way. Learning is a gift that my students do not take for granted.

My Project

My students need standing desks to help improve their learning and maintain focus. Many of my students have unique learning styles. Many of my students prefer to stand during lessons, independent time, tests and group activities. While they are standing, their legs are spread apart to allow them to get to the level of their desks in order to work. After a few minutes, they are tired from standing in that position. They often try working at the counter, where again they are standing in an uncomfortable position. The standing desks will allow my students to stand without having to constantly move around to find a position that is comfortable to their needs. The constant moving around interrupts their learning. They become unmotivated while trying to find a comfortable spot to work. Their thinking process is lost and they have to start all over again, trying to remember what they wanted to say or write. While they were focused for a few minutes, their focus from learning went to trying to find a place that fits their individual needs. Having standing desks will help my students learn without being interrupted to find a place to work. It will also all them to maintain focus and work during the entire time without needing to focus their attention on finding a place to work.
