Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school energetic and ready to learn every day! They enjoy movement and hands-on activities the most. It is hard for most of them to stay engaged while sitting in a hard, uncomfortable chair all day. They often get fidgety and restless. I would like the opportunity to offer them flexible seating options that will make them more comfortable while they are learning!
Students often say how uncomfortable it is for them to sit in these desks for long periods of time.
In my classroom, I encourage my students to always try their best and find a space that they work best in.
My Project
By getting these standing desks students will be able to focus on their work while getting their extra energy out. The desks are equipped with a bar for students to rest their foot on and move back in forth without making any noise. Students spend a lot of their day sitting in their desks. Some students prefer to stand to stay focused and get their work done.
Fifth graders need creative ways to get their energy out without distracting their peers.
I believe all students should be given the opportunity to work and learn in an environment that works best for them. With your help, I can give those opportunities to my students.
