I teach third grade in a very rural district. I have students that range from Kindergarten level to 8th grade all in one classroom. Students in my classroom are continuously working in small group and/or on a computer. I have 21 students and I am constantly transitioning from whole group instruction to individualized, small group instruction. I want students to always be engaged in whatever area I am teaching. When students are excited to learn, it's a success in my class!
My Project
My students like to learn by doing, moving, and creating. Because of this, I want to make my classroom a space that allows them to be the most creative, the most successful, and the most ambitious self they can be. Please help me, help them.
I want to transform my classroom into a creative environment where all learning types can thrive.
Many of my students have trouble sitting down all day in a desk, and therefore have trouble concentrating on completing the task at hand. This stand-up desk will help my creative students who like to move, stay focused, and inspired! This desk will create a better environment for projects, creativity, and success. It will allow them to move around in groups more freely, stand up, take a break, and get a feel for what it is like to create in a professional space. The art supplies, such as paint and brushes, are needed to help students be creative. Many of my students finish writing assignments early and these art supplies will allow them to illustrate their writings.
