This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a PYP (Primary Years Programme) and MYP (Middle Years Programme) school. PYP and MYP are part of the IB (International Baccalaureate ®) Programme.

"IB aims to help students develop skills, knowledge, and attitudes they need to excel not only in their studies, but also in their personal growth."

All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students' abilities range from well below grade level to a little above grade level in mathematics. It is important that I am meeting the needs of all of my learners, no matter their level.

My Project

I am asking for two standing desk converters for my classroom. If this project is successful, I will definitely be asking for more!

My *new* roommate (and most likely co-teacher) and I are working as hard as possible this summer to change the game by making our classroom the most welcoming learning space in our school!

This project will allow for at least two students to stand while doing their work. Many of our students enjoy standing or moving while working and concentrating, especially our students with ADHD and other special needs. Math and other STEM subjects do not need to be stationary, especially because careers that involve STEM subjects involve constant movement. I personally know that as a teacher it is hard for me to sit still for hours at a time.
