I teach a terrific, very diverse group of third graders who are full of wonder and are eager to learn. Positivity and kindness are emphasized in my classroom on a daily basis. Successes are celebrated and mistakes are accepted as pathways to learning. My students understand we all learn differently and embrace each other's uniqueness.
"Childhood should be a journey, not a race." Laughter is a powerful teaching tool.
I don't let my students forget to be eight and nine years-old each day. They enter a classroom where they are challenged to better themselves through problem solving, and they rise to the occasion. I learn from my students all the time. What an adventure it is to watch my students grow as they take their "journey" through third grade!
By donating to my project, you will provide my students with an alternate way to learn. Your help will not only increase student attention and participation, but also increase their academic achievement. Your donation will let those who need to move around, do so in a dignified way.
These desks will allow my students to get the blood flowing and MOVE while they learn!
As a student, I never had the chance to stand or move from my desk. I sat in a desk all day long as the hours ticked away. Both as a teacher and a mother of a child with ADHD, I understand for some, movement is vital for a successful day. This is a wonderful gift for my students who just need another option during their school day.
