Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a school district that has a diverse student population. Some things they have in common are that they are all great kids who love to learn and they deserve to have a comfortable classroom they feel at home in. I don't let the historic building (cracking floors and crumbling walls) that I teach in keep me from doing whatever I can to make my classroom look great because I want the best for my kiddos!
My students learn in so many different ways, and I'd like to provide an area in my classroom where students have the option to stand at a tall desk while they learn and work.
I have many students who have trouble sitting an entire period, but with my current stationary lab tables, they cannot stand and move around because it will block the view of other students.
My Project
With 2 tall movable standing desks and durable stools, my students who prefer to stand while they work and learn will finally have the opportunity to do so without distracting or hindering the learning of my other students.
By donating these furniture items, you are not only providing much needed items for increased student attention and focus, but you will ultimately help increase student academic achievement and pride in their classroom and school.
I currently only have stationary science lab tables and very uncomfortable stools for my students to sit on. This new furniture would provide additional seating options for students who don't do well in typical seating arrangements.
