I work with a wonderful group of third-grade students at an excellent school in south Charlotte, NC. We have a diverse student population, and we are dedicated to growing each student individually at their own ability level in all content areas. One of the things that makes our school unique is the personalized learning philosophy that we have adopted.
My students work hard to reach their potential each and every day.
As part of the personalized learning model, we emphasize a growth mindset, are reflective learners, setting personal goals, and track progress towards meeting our goals. The students at our school are eager learners, who benefit from hands-on experiences.
My Project
As a teacher at a personalized learning school, I love to give all of my students a choice about where they can work. Throughout the school day, they can be found at regular tables, laying on pillows on the floor, or sitting and working at a low table. What we are missing are adjustable tables where we can stand and work! The adjustable table will give my students the chance to stand and move while they work.
We also need hands-on materials to explore and investigate.
The STEM materials will allow students the chance to learn and explore in a hands-on way!
