My students need a standing desk in order for me to meet the needs of all students. Each student should have an opportunity to learn in a safe, comfortable environment.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most students in my class are hard workers and they want to learn. I have a few that prefer to stand while learning, having this desk will mean they know it is okay to stand and work. I want them to be comfortable learning and to know that everyone learns differently and that is all right too!
Our school is full of very diverse learners with many different backgrounds and stories, from all walks of life.
There are many students who have never ventured outside of their immediate community. All of the students have the ability to learn and if given the proper opportunity, they will learn. The teacher's at our school are aware of the community around us and we work hard daily to ensure that we not only work on academics with our students, but social and emotional skills as well. My students are eager learners, they keep me on my toes and each day they do something to send me home laughing or even crying. I want to ensure that I make their year in my class, at our school, a very memorable experience.
My Project
Having a standing desk in the class will be a big help to students who are able to stay on task, but are just more comfortable doing it while standing. The desk will be confirmation to students that prefer to work while standing that it is acceptable. They will learn that learning is necessary, no matter how you get it done.
We ask students all the time to connect experiences in class to real-life experiences.
In most professional work places people are able to make their work space comfortable in order to produce great results. Our students will know that they can personalize their work space in the classroom for optimal learning
