This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a high poverty Title 1 school, my students are faced with many challenges at home and in school. Many of my students are English Language Learners and rarely have experiences outside of their urban neighborhood. Because of this, I look to create experiences for them at school that allow them to gain knowledge, experience, and a desire to go beyond their own expectations.

My students can innovative, creative, and goal oriented and will flourish if given the right opportunities and tools.

District budget cuts have affected the resources to which my students have access. I want my students to know about the world beyond only their neighborhood and what they see on social media.

My Project

Many of my students struggle with sitting still in a desk all throughout class. These tables, which can be raised to standing height, will allow students to stand up and work. Many students today struggle to sit still and focus in a traditional classroom setting.

My goal is to give my students the best possible learning environment.

These tables will assist in helping me read the needs of more of my students. These tables give me the opportunity to change from the traditional classroom. With this opportunity, my students will be able to move more, focus more, and learn move.
