My Students
I work with students of all backgrounds and interests. Each is unique and brings to class their experiences to make our class discussion enlightening and informative. I love how they keep me on my toes and push me to be a better educator!
Each student deserves to be a part of a classroom environment that sets them up for success.
Not all students in my classroom learn the same way; they are active and need their environment to reflect that.
My Project
Students are being confined to chairs in classrooms! In my classroom, I engage students through movement activities and transitions. When students need to work independently or in a group, the seating is limited; many prefer to stand.
It has been proven through brain research that students who move are more likely to remain alert and retain the information taught to them while converting that learning into long term memory.
Chairs aren't always the best seating arrangement and do a disservice to many students who need constant movement or to not feel so confined to their seats. With a standing desk converter, a student who needs to stand to maintain their attention and remain engaged can!
