My students need options such as stand up desks for flexible seating. Traditional desks are not the best for all students.

My Students

The students in my classroom are special education students ranging in age from 6-12. These students have been labeled with learning disabilities, emotional disabilities and/or physical disabilities. Just to name a few of the reasons why these students come to my room: to get extra support in reading, writing and/or math, support on a test or project, to take a break from their general education setting, to help control their behaviors and/or just need help focusing on what they are doing.

My Project

Can you imagine back to when you were in elementary school? Sitting in those hard, uncomfortable wooden chairs. Your arms resting on those hard desks. You wanted to stand, or move or wiggle, but you knew you would get into trouble. Even today, as an adult, you may sit at your desk and need to move or stand.

Flexible seating options will allow my students to have the option to stand, sit or bounce while working, which will help eliminate one of those issues, that my students struggle with all day, everyday.

My students have many struggles throughout their day, so allowing them to be comfortable and "get the wiggles out" while they are working will help them to better focus within the classroom.
