This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My amazing students come from all different backgrounds. 55% or more are from low socioeconomic backgrounds and because of that my school is considered Title I. Students that attend my school live in the neighborhood. These kids all have a desire to learn and I spend my year trying to find a way to reach each and every one of them. I work with them to form connections that I hope will continue throughout their lives. When they leave my classroom, they know they can always come back if they ever need anything.

My Project

Some of the students in my class struggle to hold still at their desks. Providing a standing desk area in the back of the room will allow them to have a place to stand up and complete their work while also giving them the freedom to stretch their legs and move while they work. Eventually I would like to have many standing desks in my classroom but would like to "test drive" one first to make sure it is the correct fit for my classroom. Thank you for helping to support my students and make them successful in our classroom!
