My Students

In Davenport we have a lot of low socioeconomic status students. Our district is in the middle of a massive budget reduction and there currently is zero funding coming from the district for music, instruments, etc. Everything we need to run the band program we have to fundraise for ourselves.

The band students are very hard workers who deserve to have good equipment that will help display their talents.

They put in so many hours of extra work outside the school day and are always striving to be better performers!

My Project

Over the years, the drama teacher, choir teachers, and I have worked hard to create a quality musical program each spring. This year we are doing Les Miserables and all of the students are very excited for the challenge!

Unfortunately, our current stand lights are about 20 years old and most have stopped working.

Students have started resorting to trying to use the flashlight on their phones so that they can see their music. We desperately need new stand lights but there is no budget to purchase any. Please help us get the stand lights we need so the kids can continue to put on amazing musical productions!
