I have two students that are my music librarians for our growing orchestra. They are vital players that organize and distribute music to violin, viola, cello, brass, and percussion. In our large orchestra, this is a very big job. They lead the younger students and model organization and responsibility.
They are passionate musicians that have played for all four years and are committed to helping all orchestra members.
In addition to being honor students in music, they are accomplished students in their academics.
My Project
My orchestra is growing, thanks to wonderful middle school teachers. Since the program is growing our music stands we have more students than stands. The stands we have also take a beating. There are many old plastic stands that are not holding up. They are broken and did not last long.
The Manhasset stands may be a little more expensive but the last and last.
I would like to ensure the orchestra and band can replace the old worn out stands and provide for an increasing number of students.
This is the first of several projects to get quality stands. They will last for years and years.
