My students need Learniture padded metal lab stools (pack of 4) for small group work and a multipurpose standing desk for students who prefer to stand.
I am a second year teacher in an elementary building that is a part of a very large, suburban school district. I teach three blocks of fifth grade language arts. The students in all of my classes are very diverse.
All of my students are new to 5th grade, many are new to the district, and some are new to the United States.
They come from a variety of backgrounds. Several of my students speak English as their second language. I have many students who are economically disadvantaged and receive free/reduced lunch.
Each day my students come to class excited to explore new books, write stories, and expand their language arts skill set. I have the distinct pleasure of joining them on their educational journeys.
My Project
My students need a 4 pack set of stools for our small group table. The plastic stools that we had at the beginning of the year (purchased with my own funds) did not hold up and are broken. It would mean a lot to my students to have sturdy stools that stayed at the small group table. Time that is currently taken to move chairs around, would no longer be lost. My students would be comfortable and able to focus on the small group lesson.
All students learn differently.
Some of my students need to be able to stand in order to learn. I want my students to have the option to stand and to be able to work at the same time. Currently, if my students choose to stand that have to sit back down to complete written work or bend over uncomfortably. The standing desk would eliminate this dilemma.
