My students need two standing-height desks to stand while working and collaborating.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
There are many great things going on at our school. Our school’s distinguished practice is health and fitness. We focus on many ways to incorporate activities to keep our bodies and minds healthy. This past school year, four schools competed in track and field. Several of our students placed and earned medals. This year, we brought music class to our school. Also, this is the second year that we are providing an after-school orchestra.
As a teacher of students who come from low-income families, I push them to persevere and be the best that they can be.
Living close to a tourist attraction, many of my students and their families are unable to go because they can’t afford it. Our school is a Title I school where the majority of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Some of my students live in motels or a crowded room. Some of my students are responsible for caring for their younger siblings as their parents work long hours. Whatever the circumstances may be, they come to school to learn.
I am requesting two standing desks for my classroom. With standing desks, students will have the option to stand and learn. The desks will also be a great place to collaborate on a project or assignments.
Having options to sit or stand will allow students movement and flexibility in the classroom.
It is tough to sit in one spot for a long time. I know because I have to do it when we have trainings. It is hard to stay in one spot. Often time, I find myself needed to stand. I can empathize with my students and would like to give them the option to stand.
