Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Stamp out boredom, plain projects, and black and gray school work with these vibrant stamps and ink pads.
A snapshot of our middle school shows a diverse high-need school comprised of about 1,100 students in grades six to eight.
Over half of our student population receives free or reduced priced lunch. Approximately half of our students receive support services in addition to their core classes. Many of our students are not native English speakers.
My Project
Students come to the school library during study hall, lunch or even after school to complete assignments. Many times they come to work on their projects in the library because they do not have any supplies at home. I try to stock anything the children might need.
I am requesting stamps and ink pads. I have a few stamps I brought in from home and have noticed the students gravitating to them and finding great ways to incorporate them into their work. I have seen children make boarders for their poetry, create a " wax seal" for their "documents" and enhance their thank you cards and teacher correspondence cards.
Every time I hear a child say he has no supplies at home I cringe.
I know school supplies are not a high priority for all parents but I want my students to have access to all they need. Please help me students bring life and color to their work with stamps.
