Hello from will on the Hill! We have great need here at this high school site. I am the Drama/Technical Theatre Director. I have very creative classes and am very lucky to have such a great interest in this area.. My tech classes help build our huge musical review production as well as tech the assemblies, programs and reunions held here. There knowledge of the working stage is vital for a successful show. This is a high need community and with your help,I can prepare this group of talented young people for college through the projects I choose.
Most of our kids participate in the free and reduced lunch program. Over 89% of our students use this very helpful supplement. Our students work in order to help with household expenses, gas and food. I always try to earn grants so they will not have the stress of having to purchase a variety of supplies that they need for the classroom. Just getting to and from school is difficult for some of them. These supplies can enrich their lives and set them up for success in college.
We will be creating and designing stage designs from plays and musical. The graph paper, pencils, paper and color pencils will allow their creativity to flow. Their math and literacy skills will improve along with their group communication skills. I will use Bloom's Taxonomy, Research Based Instructional Strategies and the "T" Model of education. I am using State of the Art reference books which many colleges use for their design projects. They must have the proper supplies to move forward.
