Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our students come from diverse and challenged socio-economic backgrounds with all our students receiving free lunch. As diverse as our student are economically and culturally, they are as diverse in their academics and many are English language learners. Our school serves students in grades Pre-school through sixth grade and teaches rigor and responsibility.
The teaching staff is phenomenal and the learning environment is safe and inviting.
Our goal in Hayward is to prepare our students to be college and career ready.
I am lucky in that I get to spend time with all six hundred plus, special students each week at my school. I am the physical education teacher at a Title one school in Hayward, CA and I am responsible for imparting the knowledge and skills on my students to become healthy and active individuals.
My students deserve to live long and healthy lives and the new equipment will afford them the opportunity to learn about and plan for being active now and into the future. My students are learning about the five components of fitness and participating in moderate to vigorous activity regularly at school. They need additional equipment to help them put their bodies and minds through the rigor needed to both experience and learn. The cup stacks will allow them to achieve improved fine motor control, hand eye coordination, tracking and crossing the midline which is important in physical education and academics.
