My students come into the classroom excited and enthusiastic about learning. They enter the classroom with a bounce in their step and wiggles in their body. They want to actively engage in learning, yet are required to sit in hard plastic chairs during the day. Stability balls could help this!
My adorable and wonderful students are five and six year olds who are eager to learn!
The students in my classroom come from a variety of different backgrounds and have a variety of different needs. As their teacher, I strive to ensure that the various learning needs of my students are being met and appropriate accommodations are being provided to make all learners successful.
My Project
My students need 25 stability balls to use instead of chairs to help increase focus and classroom performance while decreasing squirminess and inattentiveness. Imagine if children would WANT to stay in their seats during the day? Imagine if children would WANT to remain seated to listen and learn? Can you help my students receive a "seat" (stability ball) that will allow them to naturally wiggle and jiggle throughout the learning day? Your support of this project will give every child in my classroom a "seat" they WANT to sit at! Children would be allowed to sit on their stability ball at any point during the school day. Furthermore, they would be allowed to transport their stability ball to various locations and center areas around the room. Students would learn to take ownership and responsibility in knowing that their new "seat" can help maximize their performance at school.
