My students need stability exercise balls, so they can be more mobile while they are sitting at their desks. I have used a few of these that I've bought myself, and they helped students focus!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hard-working, second-language learners who come from families where Spanish is the primary language. They are taught in a bilingual setting so they can then transfer the academic skills and strategies to learning English Language Arts.
As research has shown, being bilingual is an asset to students, and these students work very hard to make sure they keep their native language while succeeding in English, also.
Students not only learn Spanish language arts, but also English language development, and English language arts.
They are curious, inquisitive, and smart. However, many come from families where their parents did not get a high school education, or even speak English, which makes their progress in our educational system harder than for those who come from more privileged backgrounds.
My Project
Many students have to sit at their desks for a long time, and they are unable to focus on their work because their little bodies are asking them to move. Using stability balls to sit on, they are able to roll around a little, which helps them focus on their work and concentrate on learning, rather than on how uncomfortable it is to sit for such a long time.
While I try to have my kids be active in the classroom, it is sometimes necessary for them to sit and write, or read, and these stability balls would be a great addition to their seating choices.
Last year, I had a stability ball brought in by the school, and I brought a couple more in from my class, and the kids who were lucky enough to use them (we had to share and take turns) enjoyed the opportunity to sit on them and move around. The students were not disrupted, and their learning was enhanced. The balls were truly an asset, and the kids kept asking when I'd get more!
