Our sixty-five fifth grade students are from a small community where most come from homes that are low socioeconomic. They do not get to experience most things that kids from larger or higher income areas might get to do or see in their daily lives.
They are energetic and hard working kids who just want the best out of life.
Students work cooperatively in class on concepts and skills. We try to instill good work habits, including responsibility and working with others appropriately.
My Project
At the end of the year my students will take the STAAR Science Test. The materials I have requested will allow the students to create a review book that has different hands on activities. This makes it more enjoyable for reviewing the different topics students have learned throughout the year.
Students will be able to review topics such as matter, energy, force,
motion, earth's resources, space, and life science. The large envelopes will create the pages of their books while the library pockets and coin envelopes will be for materials needed to do the activities. Students will do matching activities, review vocabulary, and answer test like questions.
