This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
These students are experiencing for the very first time, having a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter at Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School. They are excited and very ambitious about succeeding in the program and placing in their respective competition categories. So far we already have a team of three that have been advanced to the State competition. We are awaiting results of the others during the January 30 awards ceremony, where they will learn if they placed in the State Competition in Orlando.
My Project
These materials make a difference in my students' achieving success in our FBLA chapter by not only giving them the confidence to give their all during the State and National competitions, they will also provide the much-needed business attire required for them to attend the events. They are all free lunch recipients and cannot afford to purchase these items.
There is a strict dress code that they must adhere to in order to both attend and compete at the local, state and national levels. They each must have at least three appropriate outfits to wear for the duration of the 4 day, 3 night Orlando State Leadership Conference.
