I work as a teacher in a low-income school, and the students come from high poverty. These students face many difficult challenges in and out of school on a daily basis. While students may face these difficult challenges, I like to create a classroom environment where they can feel welcome and consider a safe place. Many of them crave constant and positive attention. While most come from a single parent family homes, it's difficult for them to get this positive attention in their home lives. All of these students have a joy for reading and writing and continue to push themselves to the highest limits. They always continue to surprise me.
My Project
It is important that my students can keep their hands clean and dry and be able to blow and wipe their noses.
It is very important that students can stay germ free so they can come to school every day!
In the beginning of the year parents graciously donated supplies to our classroom. Unfortunately, we have run out of supplies.
At school we are given a healthy snack each day. It is important that students can clean their hands before they can enjoy the snack. Additionally, it is important that students can blow their noses at any point during the day. At times, students need to leave the room to blow their noses. It is important that students are not losing important instructional time to leave the room so they can blow their noses. These supplies would be super helpful and are necessary for our students.
