Our school is an interesting mixture of various cultural and economic backgrounds, especially being that we are located in a military town that is known for its language schools. Families come to us from all over the country and even the world. Our school provides a welcoming, family-oriented environment where children love to come to school and learn! All of my students are incredible, complex and love to be challenged!
Every one of my students learns a little bit differently and that definitely holds true this year!
Some learn by listening, many by touching or doing and others by watching. My daily goal, as a classroom teacher, is to reach all the different types of learners. I try my best to give each student what they need to be a successful life-long learner!
My Project
All of the tools and activities listed in this project will help students engage in their learning. The tablets will allow students to learn so many new skills. They will make videos to share their ideas, listen to stories, and access educational apps! The different building activities will let children create from their own imagination and to enhance academic learning. Some of these products will enhance existing centers like our sensory bin. All of these products will also require students to work cooperatively. It is so important for students at this age to engage in social play and these tools will help students to acquire those special communication skills.
By donating to our project, you will not only help students learn reading, math, and social skills, you will help them to foster an interest in learning!
I see a specific need for hands on learning in my classroom this year and the products that I have selected will definitely help to fill that need. Many of these items have been specifically requested by students. I have found that leaning into student interests can positively affect student learning and engagement and hope that these centers will help us grow even more!
